Black Skys Call For Black Metal
Today I woke up, and looked outside and it was dark, foggy, drizzling, and alittle chilly. Here in Southern California, we dont get these days too often and its a damn shame because I would trade this weather for the sun, any day of the week. Driving to work, I started planning what music would best accompany this day, much like how food enthusiasts will match a good wine to a particular meal. What type of music would best accompany a wet, dark, foggy, and rainy day? Black Metal.
Which type? Well, I tend to lean more towards depressive/suicidal or atmospheric/shoegazey black metal where the lyrical content is based around sorrow, despair, longing, trees, nature and suicide as opposed to black metal where the lyrical content is basically anti-christian and satanic. But not always.
So this post is a bit random and out of the norm for the regular scheme of things, but I just wanted to share some music that I think is very fitting for days like today.
